Official Philanthropy - Alpha Kappa Delta Phi
One of our 5 pillars is SERVICE: Together, it is our goal to give back to the community. Our national philantropy is Breast Cancer Awareness. October: Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Every October, it is our goal to fundraise money to support Breast Cancer Awareness. We have an exclusive partnership nationwide with AVON: Breast Cancer Crusade. All our proceeds go towards this organization. Our goal for 2015 is to raise over $100,000 nationwide. We also have service events where we make sandwiches for shelters, have canned food drives, and make cards for kids in hospitals! The opportunities to serve for the community is endless.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Alpha Kappa Delta Phi's national philanthropy is the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade which supports breast cancer awareness. Alpha Kappa Delta Phi awareness campaign began in 1998. We host breast cancer awareness banquets, information sessions, workshops, and discussion groups. In 2006, we raised over $30,000 as a national organization for breast cancer awareness. In 2008, the sorority raised and donated over $35,000.In 2012, aKdphi raised and donated over $62,000.

National Violence Awareness Day

In the winter of 2002, Valerie Zavala Wilson, a sister from SJSU, was sexually assaulted and later murdered when she attempted to retaliate against her assailant on her way home. She had died of asphyxia and had suffered blunt-force head injuries. Samuel Pueblo, was later apprehended and charged with first degree murder, attempted rape, and felony murder. alpha Kappa Delta Phi acknowledges Valerie and the tragedy she faced on our annual day of remembrance - January 31.

Mr. Pink hosted by the sisters of alpha Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Inc. is a breast cancer event geared towards promoting awareness and fundraising donations to Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.
